The tale of the Great Roman Empire focuses on the male leaders, lawmakers and generals. Forgotten are some seriously powerful women standing behind them. This necklace was part of a collection, (2020) of necklaces devoted to the exceptional women of the Roman Empire. Livia Drusilla was the wife of Emperor Augustus for 51 years. Although dutifully modest, behind the scenes she was diligently keeping the Imperial System running and advising Augustus.

This necklace is handmade solid raw bronze created from metal clay, fired in a kiln and finalized through various cleaning and polishing processes. It is one of a kind.
